Jess Chambers is a multifaceted artist known for her work as Dream Chambers, where she combines her talents as a vocalist, instrumentalist, and songwriter to create captivating compositions on modular synthesizers.

Born in Aotearoa to an American mother and NZ father, Jess initially gained recognition for her delicately orchestrated folk albums and her collaborations with esteemed musicians such as Rhian Sheehan, The Upbeats, Isaac Chambers, and The Woolshed Sessions.

Throughout her career, Jess has released albums spanning various genres, with her songs being licensed to TV and film, as well as the Green Party of New Zealand for their general election campaigns of 2008 and 2011. Her song 'Island' was nominated for The APRA Silver Scroll Award in 2008 and 'Stringing Me Along' was awarded APRA Best Country Song in 2009.

Jess is a seasoned performer who has graced stages across the US, New Zealand, and Australia. Jess has headlined solo tours and supported Fleet Foxes (US), King Woman (US), Mark Lanegan (US), Trentemøller (DEN), KT Tunstall (UK), Bic Runga (NZ), Nadah El Shazly (EGY) and Ceil (CAN). She has also toured as a vocalist for The Upbeats and Rhian Sheehan.

At the end of 2023, she toured the US performing a live score of the 1920s classic vampire film 'Nosferatu' alongside Eve Maret and Belly Full of Stars, and collaborated with the Nashville-based experimental classical ensemble Chatterbird.

Passionate about sharing knowledge of music technology with women and non-binary creators, Jess co-founded Hyasynth House (Nashville, 2018) and co-hosts Techno Echo (Wellington, NZ 2023). Through workshops and events they create community and empower marginalized artists with new creative tools.

Dream Chambers is set to release her next album of modular synth and vocal works, composed exclusively on large format Moog Model 10 & 15 synthesizers.

Currently, Jess splits her time between Nashville, and Aotearoa, continuing to push creative boundaries and inspire audiences with her innovative approach to music-making.
